A rapidly expanding SME is seeking an Interim Head of Finance to take ownership of financial performance across the business. This role offers a blend of hands‑on financial control, business partnering, team management and strategic support to operational leaders.

You'll join a finance team that is modernising, data driven, and commercially minded, and you'll play a central role in shaping how financial insight drives decision making across the business.

The Role

Working closely with the leadership team and group finance stakeholders, you'll be the financial heartbeat of business. This position would suit someone who enjoys variety, wants clear influence over performance, and is comfortable balancing detail with big picture thinking.

What You'll Lead & Deliver

  • Lead the month‑end reporting cycle and deliver high quality analysis.
  • Shape budgets and forecasts with leadership teams.
  • Manage a small team.
  • Provide challenge and insight around overheads and cost drivers.
  • Improve cash flow visibility and forward planning.
  • Own the accuracy of the regional balance sheet.
  • Build strong partnerships across operational and commercial teams.
  • Offer day‑to‑day financial support.

About You

You'll thrive here if you enjoy being embedded in the business, not just behind a spreadsheet. We're looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and comfortable challenging the status quo.

Essential

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Confident Excel user; experience with ERP/forecasting tools advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail balanced with commercial awareness.
  • Able to manage competing deadlines and keep others on track.
  • Clear, confident communicator who builds relationships quickly.
  • Able to manage small teams effectively.
  • Proactive mindset; someone who spots issues early and brings solutions.
