Job Title: Lead/Principal System Safety Engineer

The Opportunity:
Join a pioneering team shaping the future of combat air systems. You'll lead system safety efforts for advanced sensing & communications technologies, ensuring compliance with aircraft safety regulations, integrating solutions, and influencing mission-critical safety assessments.

Your Role:

• Conduct system safety assessments, identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with ARP4754B, ARP4761A, DO-254, and DO-178C.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety strategies for next-gen airborne systems.
• Provide specialist safety advice, ensuring risk mitigation aligns with industry best practices.
• Integrate safety analyses across subsystems, ensuring compatibility with aircraft-level safety frameworks.
• Present findings at design reviews, shaping technical safety decisions.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience in safety-critical industries, ideally aerospace or defense.
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles, complex system interactions, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Ability to lead safety work packages, collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of radar, sensors, lasers, and defensive aids.
• Awareness of Information Security and system integration challenges.
• Familiarity with industry safety initiatives (IET, SCSC).
• Experience with safety analysis tools such as DOORS, Cameo, Isograph.
