Management Accountant - London

Seeking a Management Accountant for a 6-month contract for a public sector organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful financial monitoring of all activity including continual development and improvement of practices, understanding and interpreting varied and numerous funding streams and their related expenditure activities, the production of regular, timely and accurate financial information, forging and maintaining close links and excellent working relationships with numerous and varied stakeholders, both internal and external.

Responsibilities:

• Contracting, Income, Costing and information/performance management to ensure they have a coherent integrated information, analysis and plans.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting processes and procedures and financial systems.
• Support the implementation of actions in response to recommendations from Internal Audit for the enhancement of internal controls and procedures in own areas of responsibility.
• Provide robust, accurate and timely core financial reports to meet internal and external month end/ year-end deadlines.
• Preparation and posting of journal entries in line with month end procedures.
• Maintain strong financial controls and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure strong relationships and regular communications with all finance managers to ensure they are informed of any data quality issues relating to the financial position, new national guidance and policy issues, and to provide them with clear guidance as appropriate.
