Our Company Commercial group handles major projects for some of the largest clients in the world. We enable our lawyers to stretch their skills and gain experience few other law firms can offer. Our group includes a wide variety of experts, from dealmakers and banking experts through to contract drafters and IP specialists. With the resources of an international firm and an award winning, innovative approach, all of our people are able to offer carefully managed, progressive business solutions that modern day organisations require. This internal role supports the Company Commercial professional support lawyer (PSL) team. The PSL team provides support to our legal advisers on all legal and technical aspects of their job. The PSLs work across all the product groups with Company Commercial, for example Corporate, Banking and Tax. The team provides extensive training via varying methods including face to face, e-learning and webinar. It also provides knowledge updates and precedents and supports the gathering and sharing of internal knowhow.

Key responsibilities:

The role will involve you:

* Organising and managing multiple training programmes that are run across the department, and feeding into the national forum on training

* Liaising with the learning and development team

* Maintaining knowledge topic pages on our intranet

* General support to the Company Commercial PSL team (of 10) to include production of training materials and amendments to precedents

* Undertaking legal research and writing articles and notes

Skills and experience:

We would welcome applications from those who have completed their LPC or from those can demonstrate they have gained the relevant skills and knowledge through experience.

A good grounding in legal research is essential and it would be beneficial if you have gained experience within a commercial practice. Strong IT skills are essential.

A good knowledge of Articulate Sharepoint and PowerPoint would be an advantage.

Key competencies:

You will be able to work with minimum supervision, in an autonomous and independent way and will be excited and challenged by the pace and demands of a corporate environment.

You should also be able to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness, with the ability to contribute to the wider business and knowledge agenda.

You will be able to demonstrate a range of influencing skills, personal impact and communication skills that will ensure success and command instant credibility at all levels of the organisation.

In addition to the above, the clients also require awareness and full participation in the Firm's commitment to equality and diversity, the environment and health and safety.
