A Global Commodities Trading organisation is looking to take on a Trade Accountant in their London office. The organisation has experienced strong profits over the last few years and, as a result, this is a new position. The organisation takes pride in the service they give their customers and how they treat their staff. As a Trade Accountant your key responsibilities will be:
- Daily liaison with front office traders to understand risks and ensure accurate P&L reporting
- Key point of contact for front office traders to resolve any queries
- Daily pricing of variable trades
- Review new trades against existing trade contracts
- Month end P&L reporting including commentaries
- Presentation of monthly P&L to senior management
- Monthly reporting of new physical trades
- Profitability analysis
- Monthly balance sheet review
- Continuous improvements around existing process
- Ad hoc systems work
- Support external auditors at year end
To be considered for this role you will have at least 2 years experience in a Trade Accountant position within commodities. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), or equivalent, and have a university degree in a suitable field. It's very important that you have good written and oral communication skills due to the stakeholder management involved - they'll be an aspect of discussing financial information to non-finance people. It's imperative to have good time management and strong attention to detail, paired with a can-do attitude.
