Marks Sattin new office bolstered by 2.3% growth in the North-West

Accountancy and Finance recruiter Marks Sattin is opening an office in Manchester.

The launch will be Marks Sattin’s fifth base in the UK and its 14th globally, with other offices in cities such as Sydney, Hong Kong, London and Sao Paolo, spanning 4 continents.

Marks Sattin’s Manchester operation will be led by Phil Bainbridge who joins Marks Sattin with over 10 years’ Accountancy and Finance recruitment experience. He has worked at Watson Moore and Hudson, and boasts considerable experience recruiting in the North-West. He will report into Dave Way, the managing director for Marks Sattin in Europe and the Middle East.

Phil Bainbridge said: “The North-West is home to over 252,000 businesses and with an economy worth almost £120 billion it continues to bounce back from the global recession – and is set for growth of 2.3% in 2011 . For example the resurgence of the port of Liverpool and the FMCG sector through increased trade with the Far East will inevitably create new jobs for the 10,500 ACA qualified accountants in the region.

The office opening comes as firms in the region begin hiring again on a scale not seen in the past 2 years, as economic confidence returns. It reflects our continuing commitment to increase coverage in the UK market, and take advantage of the growing opportunities in the North-West”.
