Learn more about Lucy, our candidate experience guru, based in our Reading office

Lucy Dickinson our consultant managing the role

When did you join Marks Sattin and what does a day as a candidate experience and resourcing consultant look like?

I joined the team in January 2018. My role is unique and involves supporting our consultants in finding high calibre candidates to ensure client needs are always met. I then manage the candidates’experience, ensuring as a team we can assist them in their search for a new role and make the process as smooth as possible.

What’s the most challenging aspect of your role?

The most challenging part of my role is sourcing the correct candidates, managing their expectations and aligning them with clients. Candidates are in high demand in the market, so they can be placed within a matter of days. This breeds quite a high pressure environment, where you have to work at a fast pace to make sure you secure the top talent in the market.

What has been the highlight of working with us so far?

Working with a great team and supportive managers! Marks Sattin offer a completely different culture to other agencies; everyone is encouraged to have an influence over how they run their desk, opinions and suggestions are welcomed, there is no micromanagement and employees genuinely care about one another. The business also organise brilliant events to ensure we are all kept in the loop and have the chance to reconnect with colleagues in our other regional offices.

What’s it like working at Work.life, co-working space?

A co-working environment is a new experience for me, but one I would definitely encourage! Every day, you get to meet so many people from different walks of life. The Work.Life team organise many events, including a weekly beer and pizza night, which is a massive perk!

Where will we find you at the weekend?

In the pub with friends!

Random fact?

I’ve driven round the same one way system, the wrong way, twice!
