Marks Sattin is working with a leading service provider in Wakefield to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to gain exposure to both transactional and month-end responsibilities within a supportive and growing finance team.

Paying up to £34,000, our client will also offer study support, hybrid working and clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Process purchase ledger invoices and support payment runs when required.
• Provide support during audits and ad hoc finance projects.

About You

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
