A reputable, international transport business is currently seeking a CFO direct and oversee all aspects of the UK & MEI finance divisions.

As a member of the executive committee, working closely with the CEO and shareholders, this role will be responsible for:

  • Defining and implementing the business strategy.
  • Ensuring first class stakeholder management and communication.
  • Oversee a comprehensive financial services including budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, management & financial reporting, controls etc.
  • Provide expert advice and leadership in improving processes across the organization to achieve better performance.
  • Oversight of the budget process within operational divisions and approve financial planning.
  • Support business development (tenders, M&A)
  • Establish controls and compliance in line with legal frameworks and group policies.
  • Management of the financial forecast and pro-active analysis, enhancing any business KPIs.
  • Oversee the treasury and cash management process.
  • In charge of the relationship with the local and group external auditors.
  • Supervise tax obligations.
  • Design and coordinate implementation of financial governance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the roll out of the compliance and internal control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with external legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Help navigate legal risks and complexities and make informed commercial decisions.
  • Board Director of several businesses in the UK and the Middle East.
  • Ensure good and efficient relationship with the many minority Joint Venture partners

Suitable candidates will have a proven track record, working in a Finance Director or CFO position, ideally with board director experience. You will have graduated from a top leading business school / university with a major in finance and obtain a professional accounting qualification. Prior experience working in the transportation sector is beneficial, with strong stakeholder management and oversight of business operations as well as finance. You should have strong leadership skills, with the ability to build, develop and lead efficient and diverse teams.
