Marks Sattin are currently working with a privately owned manufacturer based near Scunthorpe to assist in the recruitment of a Commercially minded accountant. The business has seen very impressive growth throughout the last 10 years and this trend is set to continue as they look to open operations in different countries.

This is a new role within the company as you will be looking after the US arm of the business, you will need to understand exactly what is going on in the US and be able to deliver clear, correct and insightful information to the hiring manager for them to then present this to the board.

Responsibilities;

• Deliver timely and accurate financial data to the business
• Work closely with other team leads in the Finance team to ensure everything is accounted for
• Protect the business assets through financial integrity
• Responsible for department task completion within agreed SLA's/ Timetable.
• Responsible for team preparing weekly/ periodic accounts
• Providing commentary to the business to back-up accounts schedules
• Responsible for preparation of budget schedules
• Responsible for preparation of department dashboard
• Responsible for all Balance sheet recs ensuring they are completed reviewed and internally submitted for sign off
• Provide analytical review of both financial and non-financial external returns and financial accounts to ensure reasonableness, consistency and accuracy prior to submission
• Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and company policies are followed
• Responsible for level 1 sign off of all external reporting.
• Responsible for preparing schedules for preparation of the Statutory accounts, Tax computations and Tax return
• Responsible for inter group balances
• Work closely with other Finance Leads to ensure accruals in the accounts are not ageing and appropriate supplier invoices are posted
