Job Title: Commercial Finance Analyst

Location: Leeds, LS15

Salary: Up to £34,000 with study support

Hours: Permanent, full time, Monday - Friday

Working Model: Hybrid working

As a result of this growth aspiration we have a requirement in the finance team for a Commercial Finance Analyst who can help deliver insights, analysis and improvements in the materials management process. As a small team but in a fast growing business this role is ideally suited to someone who is adaptable to change and is a good team player.

This role will be a key part of the finance team, helping to drive up margins with cost control, tracking and analysis. As a small team you will have exposure to all levels of management and key suppliers.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Working towards or very near to being a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good team player
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial managers

The Role

As Commercial Finance Analyst you will primarily be focused on materials costs, the key cost within the business. The role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Working closely with the operations team to understand materials requirements.
  • Working closely with main suppliers on pricing and invoicing processes.
  • Tracking and benchmarking materials costs.
  • Working the management to understand how changes in sales price and promotions will impact margin.
  • Reconciliation of materials invoices and credit notes to sales.
  • Management of the returns process with operations and suppliers.
  • Providing job costing analysis to management to help understand margins.
  • Wider financial analysis on other variable costs.
  • Working with the internal development team to improve reporting and visibility of costs from our CRM system.
  • Support with any other tasks and projects as required.
