I am delighted to be supporting a commercially focused finance director with their search for a Commercial Finance Manager to join their team.

This brand-new role is a fantastic opportunity to join a private equity based financial services business who have key offices based in Leeds City Centre. The business has been through a significant period of growth and expansion since their start up in 2019 and are now looking to straighten their Leeds based finance team in hiring a high calibre Commercial Finance Manager.

The role will be standalone with full ownership of the pricing policy and profit improvement initiatives driving both customer and profitability growth, campaign management and revenue budget.

This opportunity would be ideally suited to someone with a strong commercial finance background within the financial services, telecoms or utilities sector, with the ability to work with large data sets and a knowledge of Power BI or SQL.

The role will be based in Leeds City Centre 2-3 days per week - with lots of flexibility for hybrid/remote working!

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the key duties of this role will include:

  • Develop strategies to optimise increases in customer volume and profitability - including implementation and maintenance of pricing tariffs and policies, sales/customer incentives and targeted price increases.
  • Contribution to and commercial assessment and investment appraisal of proposed profit improvement initiatives.
  • Design propositions for new product launches, ensuring commercial viability.
  • Developing tools and new processes to reduce revenue/margin leakage
  • Taking ownership of the division's rolling forecast model.
  • Ownership of bi-weekly trading and monthly KPI tracking pack, understanding and explaining key reasons for variances to forecast and presenting this to the SLT.
  • Partnering various teams to develop KPI reporting suite for senior and exec-level management.
  • Monitor market changes and maintain detailed understanding of competitor tariffs, products and propositions to ensure our continued competitiveness.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in a commercially focused finance role - Essential
  • Have strong and advanced excel skills and be comfortable in working with large volumes of data - Essential
  • Have experience within the financial services or utilities sector - Highly desirable
  • Have experience of SQL or Power BI - Desirable
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
