Marks Sattin is recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a fast-paced finance team in Leeds. This role focuses on managing customer accounts, improving aged debt, and supporting billing and cash allocation processes across multiple entities.

Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Control and will pay up to £30k.

This is an office based role based in South Leeds.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Resolve queries in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records and diary entries for customer touchpoints
• Respond to support requests within SLA
• Process billing amendments, credit notes, and purchase order reviews
• Run weekly/monthly billing via Excel imports into Sage Intacct
• Upload invoices to customer portals (e.g. Tradeshift, Elfs)
• Generate statements, payment reminders, and dunning letters
• Perform daily cash allocations and maintain ledger accuracy
• Address payment delays and discrepancies
• Produce and distribute payment update reports

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in credit control and accounts receivable
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
• Understanding of double-entry accounting
• Excellent communication and customer care skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry
• Experience with Sage Intacct and finance systems (advantageous)
• Collaborative mindset with problem-solving ability
