About the Role
Marks Sattin are working with a prestigious professional services business in Birmingham, who are looking for an experienced Credit Manager to join their team. The Credit Manager will play a key part in leading the credit control team, overseeing collection of debts, minimising financial risk, and aligning credit strategies with broader business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
- Leading, managing and developing the credit control team.
- Recommending and implementing credit control policies and procedures in line with firm standards and legal regulations.
- Overseeing the assessment and analysis of client credit, setting appropriate credit limits.
- Monitoring aged debt and bad debt provision, ensuring proactive resolution of overdue accounts.
- Overseeing monthly and quarterly cash collection targets.
- Liaising with external debt recovery agencies when necessary and advise on recovery strategies.
- Providing regular reporting to the CFO on cash collection performance, risks, and recovery progress.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in credit management within a professional services environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead and influence.
- Professional qualification in credit management or finance (e.g. CICM) is desirable.
- Ability to balance commercial awareness with risk mitigation.
