A Central London based Mid-Tier bank seeking to hire a Data & BI Analyst. The role will play a crucial role in transitioning to and supporting the business new Azure Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance of Azure and BI Processes

  • Support the Azure data warehouse Finance adoption and migration process
  • Support and maintain Power BI reporting and processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the new Azure data warehouse
  • Documentation for new processes, including user manuals and process flow diagrams
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve any technical issues in the Azure reporting processes
  • Oversee System Reconciliations and Exception Reporting Analysis

Continued Adoption of the Data Warehouse

  • Facilitate the integration of new data sources into the Azure data warehouse
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to increase data warehouse literacy across the team
  • Develop strategies to enhance user engagement with the data warehouse
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to users for effective data warehouse utilisation
  • Analyse and report on data warehouse usage and suggest improvements

Support and Creation of PowerBI Dashboards

  • Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports for various Finance needs
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data visualisation requirements
  • Provide training and support to users on self-serve data sets and utilising PowerBI

Support Automation and Reporting Solutions

  • Identify opportunities for automation in finance reporting processes
  • Implement and maintain reporting solutions using tools like Alteryx and other automation applications
  • Develop and automate robust, scalable financial reports and models


Skills and Experience sought:

  • Strong systems and data management skills
  • Effective business communication skills around Power BI
  • Azure Experience: Proficiency in Azure data services and cloud architecture, beneficial for data management and analytics
  • Power BI and Automation Expertise: Proficiency in data visualisation and automation tools
  • SQL and programming experience: Ability to write and optimise queries and scripts for reporting and data analysis
  • Strong foundation of financial knowledge
  • Project Management: Experience managing data and BI projects is advantageous
  • Programming and Data Handling: With capabilities in data extraction, manipulation, and visualisation
  • Advanced Excel Proficiency: pivot tables, complex formulas, and VB
  • Automation and AI Tools: Familiarity with automation technologies and machine learning/AI principles is an advantage
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement improvements
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
