Financial Accountant - 15 Month Contract - Banking

Location: London (Hybrid Working)



We're partnered with an international commercial bank based in London who are looking to hire a Financial Accountant with Banking experience to join a dynamic finance team on an initial 15-month contract with potential for further extension and for the role to go permanent.



Accepted candidates must be immediately available (or on a short notice period max 1 month), Qualified or QBE, with experience working in Banking or Capital Markets.



Knowledge of Loan / Deposit Interest calculations, Bond valuation, Swaps and other Derivative instruments are highly desirable.



What you'll do:

• Produce statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and support external audits
• Deliver timely management reporting, financial insights, and analysis
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Manage tax reporting obligations (e.g. Corporation Tax, CRS/FATCA)
• Enhance financial processes and support system transformation initiatives
• Contribute to a strong compliance culture, including AML and financial crime controls

What we're looking for:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) OR QBE with Banking Industry experience.
• Immediately available to start the contract or on a short notice period (max 2 weeks).
• Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple teams
• Proactive, detail-focused, and driven to improve processes
