Financial Consolidation and Management Stat Reporting Accountant role with one of the largest wealth managers. They provide M&A, strategy and financing advice, as well as investment and wealth management solutions to large institutions, families, individuals and governments, worldwide.

In this role you will be joining a team of 5 in the group finance function, but they employ 3,800 spread across 50 offices worldwide, so it is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot into such a huge respectable business who have a strong track record in, Global Advisory, Wealth and Asset Management, and Merchant Banking.

It's a high profile role with exposure to the c-suite, you will get to see the 'whole picture' as it's a much broader role than if you were working in a large bank. Plus the team like to work efficiently rather than working long hours!

Responsibility of Financial Reporting Accountant:

Regular reporting

  • Assist with quarterly, budget and forecast consolidations and prepare monthly consolidations for the Group accounts, used in the board packs and annual report of a listed company.
  • Assist in maintaining and testing the Group's consolidation system, SAP FC.
  • Review of financial accounts data, received from entities on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare working papers which review and report on the monthly accounts, from both a statutory and management perspective. These are produced based on FAST modelling principles, to reduce errors, and aid review and common working.
  • Review and understand the reported differences between Group management and statutory accounts and summarise for senior management.

Other challenges

  • Assist with drafting, editing, reviewing and proof-reading the Group Finance team's publications, both internal (e.g. quarterly newsletter) and external (new accounting disclosures in the Group accounts).
  • Assist with Group Finance system changes over next few years, especially where they relate to consolidation accounting

Ongoing development

  • Work to become a subject expert in consolidation accounting and the consolidation system.
  • Proactively identifying process improvements and solutions, for example to improve the efficiency of intercompany matching processes.
  • Understand consolidation journals which were posted in the past and roll forward each year. Maintain permanent file to document them.

Requirements:

  • Must have good academics, at least a 2.1 and BBB at A-Level
  • Must be ACA or ACCA qualified (not CIMA)
  • You must have obtained more experience than only working within an audit role
