Start your job searchA high-growth, SaaS Technology business based in Suffolk is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their team! This is a broad role reporting directly to the Finance Director, responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Finance Director and the senior leadership team.
- Ownership of the month end process, including preparation of the monthly management pack
- Preparation of budget and forecasting processes.
- Variance analysis and providing commentary and reports for stakeholders.
- Contributing to business plans and future performance of the business
- Managing the half-year and year-end annual accounts process including the completion of any audit requirements
- Management of the audit process and liaising with external auditors.
- Support for acquisitions, including financial due diligence, post-acquisition integration and acquisition accounting.
- Supporting in preparing the finance team and wider business for a potential IPO
- Ensuring the group is up to date with IFRS accounting policies and adoption of changes to accounting standards.
- Developing and improvement of processes and finding solutions to strengthen internal controls
- Processing and managing quarterly VAT returns and tax reporting
- Management and develop of one direct report - Accounts Assistant.
- Oversight and approval of the Accounts Assistant work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations etc.
- Additional ad-hoc project work and analysis to support the wider team and business.
The ideal candidate will be qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent, with relevant experience working in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller related role. Ideally you will have a minimum of two years PQE and will have worked in a fast-changing and growing environment. This is a broad role covering all aspects of finance, so someone from a scale-up/ SME company background will be best suited, and experience working within the SaaS/ technology sector would be beneficial but is not essential. Candidates must have good technical capabilities, and a background of implementing robust controls and reporting, but commercially focussed, contributing to strategic planning, growth and potential investment opportunities.
