Career propelling opportunity for an ambitious and driven CFO of the future to join this boutique venture capital firm as their Head of Finance. This company has an impressive portfolio of past and present investments, with some recognisable brand names and clear growth plans in place to continue expanding and backing new companies.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Oversight of all day to day corporate and fund accounting (with the basic work outsourced)
* Presentation of monthly financials to the Partners including analysis and commentary on the finances of the underlying portfolio
* Responsibility for co-ordinating all tax, regulatory and compliance requirements
* Ad hoc support to portfolio companies, from financial advice and guidance to M&A, disposals and ad hoc project work
* Likelihood the role will grow to become the CFO of the VC firm as well as take on CFO responsibilities for some of their portfolio companies (all sub £5m t/o business operating in a variety of sectors).
* Involvement in a host of unpredictable but commercially orientated work given the small size of the business.
Your background:
* ACA or CA qualified with initial training in an Accounting practice (essential)
* Likely 5 or so years post qualification experience or equivalent & currently in a senior finance role at an Asset manager, Private Equity firm, Hedge Fund or similar
* A strong interest in working for a small and highly entrepreneurial company
* A passionate and driven personality
* Commercial acumen and meticulous attention to detail
* An adaptable and approachable personality
* Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and crack on with the basics if required
