One of our key clients in the manufacturing sector is now looking to appoint a new Financial Reporting Manager to join their team. The role will support the Head of Financial Accounting and manage a couple of direct reports.
The role
- Lead and manage the production of all group and subsidiary statutory financial reporting
- Ensure that all disclosures in the financial statements are supportable and are of audit quality
- Assist in the writing of strategic reports and directors' reports
- Help drive the accounting policies of the group and develop the accounting policy manual so that it remains fit for purpose
- Work with the Tax Accountant to ensure statutory responsibilities are met to a high standard and compliance risk to the group is minimised
- Work with the Group Reporting Finance Manager, assisting in development of accounting and financial policy
- Create a vision and direction for the finance team, challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement
- Day to day lead for the external audit of the financial statements, managing the relationship with the audit team and other professional services providers as required
- Deputise for the head of financial accounting and control where business needs require
Essential skills and experience:
- ACA (3-5+ post qualification experience either within practice or industry. PLC experience is highly desired)
- Audit experience preferable
- Flexible, able to consistently meet deadlines whilst remaining consistently motivated and focused on delivery
- Excellent technical accounting skills
- Able to delegate effectively
- Able to work proactively either independently or as part of a team
- Provides appropriate solutions to problems, combined with proven experience of decision making
