Start your job searchMarks Sattin are delighted to be working exclusively in partnership with a leading services business based in Yorkshire to recruit a Group Tax Manager. The company has an excellent approach to flexible working and are open to applications from experienced Tax professionals that are looking to work predominantly remotely, as well as those looking for a 4 day part-time position.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Group Tax Manager will play a key role in the finance team, providing strategic, technical and commercial tax advice and managing the group's tax compliance work. This is a standalone role in tax but will involve lots of interaction with senior stakeholders including the CFO, and also managing relationships with external advisors and HMRC.
Responsibilities will include:
- UK corporation tax compliance
- VAT and customs compliance
- Employment tax policy and compliance
- Overseeing international tax filings
- Supporting delivery of the groups tax strategy
- Maximising R&D and other tax reliefs
- Senior Accounting Officer submissions
- Continuous process and systems improvements
- Being the subject matter expert within the business for tax and supporting on ad hoc queries
In order to be successful, candidates will possess a relevant qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CTA and have experience of working with a range of taxes in another in house role or at a senior level in practice. In addition to technical expertise, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to build credible relationships with senior stakeholders.
