Marks Sattin are working in partnership with a Professional Services firm based in Bristol to recruit a Head of Operational Finance on a permanent basis. This is a newly scoped role which will join the finance leadership team whilst taking ownership of operational finance, reporting and associated areas such as management accounting and statutory accounts.

You will play a critical role within the firm's future from day to day management of the finance operations to projects, change and transformation.

The Head of Operational Finance Role

This role will assume responsibility of the finance operations of this successful professional services firm, you will be a clear leader within the business and a background within larger team management. A desire for process improvement and driving efficiency whilst building strong relationships across the firm.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to ongoing financial strategy of the firm
• Active involvement in projects and change within operational finance
• Budgeting and forecasting including presentation to department heads
• Reporting on budgets, projects and expenditure
• Ownership of the general ledger and associated team of circa 20
• Management of centralised costs, income and expenditure
• Preparation of annual accounts
• Production of monthly management accounts
• Overall team size of circa 25

Key Skills and Experience

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified
• Prior experience managing a mid to large team size
• Ability to network internally to enhance profile of the finance function
• Eagerness for process improvement and efficiency
• Previous experience within a professional services environment
