IFRS 16 - Project Accountant - Global Online Retail Business - 6 month contract - Immediate Start - Remote Working

Scope / key responsibilities:

• Representing the Leasing Accounting team and actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders within the business, including technology and administrative team on business integration projects
• Leading FRS102 to IFRS 16 transition for the UK portfolio
• Preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and the preparation of supplementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders.
• Direct responsibility for improving accounting processes and controls for a company with a high volume of transactions.
• Actively participating in cross functional project launches from scoping through to testing and launch.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial reporting tools
• Entrepreneurial, hands on, can-do attitude and ability to think outside the box
• Proven ability to operate independently and effectively in a dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluent English being mandatory
• Proactive and results-driven, able to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines
• Experience with US-GAAP or IFRS Accounting standards
• Experience with Lease Accounting according to IFRS 16 or ASC 842
• A strong desire to exceed expectations
• Solid organizational, project management skills, and information technology aptitude

The ideal candidates will be an experienced accounting professional who is passionate and excited about accounting with experience with the details of a monthly close cycle, periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Tririga leasing software
• Ability to work with large volumes of data and an understanding of data warehousing
• Worked in a fast-paced company similar to a high-tech start-up
• Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills
• Has an aptitude for information technology
• Excellent analytical skills
• Exposure to researching accounting conclusions, documenting support for conclusions reached
