About the Role

Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with a long standing client who are on the market to bring a commercially minded Interim FP&A Analyst to join our finance team on a fixed-term basis until April 2026. This role plays a key part in supporting the business with operating expense analysis, budgeting, and forecasting-particularly across people and vendor costs. You'll work closely with finance business partners, HR, and procurement teams to ensure financial performance is well understood and aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide insightful analysis of operating expenses (people and vendor costs) vs budget across the group.
  • Support and challenge business units to ensure financial targets are met and risks are identified early.
  • Partner with finance teams across Consumer, Enterprise, and Networks to understand budget variances and forecast implications.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to cost centre owners, including non-financial stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure headcount planning, vacancies, and backfills align with budget.
  • Work with procurement and finance to ensure contract renewals are within financial plans.
  • Monitor departmental FTE and cost performance, discussing variances with department leads and HR.
  • Support the Head of FP&A and finance business partners during budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and responses to queries on operating cost performance and future forecasts.

About You

  • Strong FP&A or management accounting experience, ideally in a large or complex organisation.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Comfortable working independently in a hybrid/remote environment.
