Interim Tax Accountant

• Rate: £400-500 Per Day (Outside IR35)
• Location: London (hybrid - 3 days in office)
• Duration: 3 months (Temp-to-perm potential)
• Start date: ASAP

A scaling software company is seeking an interim Tax Consultant to manage multiple ongoing tax projects across the UK and US. With global operations and 7,000+ customers, the business is facing increasing complexity and needs a reliable interim to handle disclosures, registrations, and advisor coordination.



Key Responsibilities:

• Manage UK and US tax compliance across 100+ countries
• Coordinate voluntary state-level sales tax disclosures across 20 US states
• Liaise with BDO (advisors) on VAT, PAYE, and historical UK positions
• Own ongoing R&D claim submissions (software sector-specific)
• Act as main point of contact with HMRC and other external parties
• Ensure all compliance requirements are met across payroll tax, sales tax, and returns

What They're Looking For:

• Qualified accountant with 2+ years PQE in tax
• Strong UK compliance experience (VAT, PAYE, R&D)
• Experience working with external tax advisors
• Exposure to US/state-level tax (especially sales tax) is a plus
• Ideally has worked in a tech/SaaS environment
