My client a well-established Financial services business. They are looking for a part or fully qualified accountant who has an interest in supporting customers and driving change.

As a payments and projects accountant sitting in the financial controls team you will play a crucial part in ensuring customers can fulfil their transactions in a safe and efficient way whilst complying within a regulated environment.

You will be an expert on payments and work as a business partner to various areas. Collaborating with colleagues from other areas to identify, test and implement payments solutions which lead to positive change for customers.

Your day to day duties will include:

  • Review regulatory change within the industry relating to payments and analyse their impact on the business, and consider how these changes can be implemented across the business
  • Work on all phases of payments related projects through to their delivery
  • Liaise closely and business partner with non-finance stakeholders within the business, influencing positive change
  • Lead work streams and attend project workshops to ensure departmental requirements are captured
  • Work closely with team members to integrate project related initiatives into day to day activities
  • Challenge existing processes within the department and identify system and process improvement
  • Deputise for Financial Control Lead and coach junior members of the team

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Knowledge of payment schemes and systems
  • Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Experience of end to end process reviews
  • Excellent numerical and financial awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be studying ACCA or CIMA- Part qualified or qualified
  • Desire to study Certificate in Payments qualification
  • Significant relevant experience
