Payroll Assistant - Global Financial Services Firm - 6 Month Contract

Location: London

We are recruiting for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our fast-paced, global financial services organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to international payroll processes.

The successful candidate must be immediately available to start or on a short notice period (1 week max). You must have worked in Payroll for a Financial Services firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Payroll, Compensation and Benefits on administrative and operational tasks
  • Play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of payroll and employee benefits, working closely with the wider HR and Finance teams.
  • Engaged in payroll operations, compliance, reporting and reconciliations
  • Handle general payroll queries from staff across the business
  • Contribute to the review and verification of monthly UK and Asia payroll cycles
  • Assist in reconciling payroll data and preparing payroll-related reports
  • Prepare documentation for the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement
  • Help ensure tax and national insurance accounts are balanced each month

Requirements:

  • You must have worked in Payroll for a financial services business.
  • You must be immediately available to start employment or on a 1 week notice max.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong, current understanding of payroll processes and best practice
  • Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly analytical and able to problem-solve independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet time-critical deadlines
