Our client - a global market leader based at one of the most iconic locations in Cheshire, are currently seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their team, initially on an 18 month FTC which could be extended.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Project Accountant will be the main Finance representative on their global asset management project. Successful delivery of this project would see the financial accounting for fixed assets being migrated into and managed within the ERP System. Furthermore the Project Accountant will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and completeness, for example by building and automating any required reconciliations.
The Project Accountant will also work closely with the Project Management Group to ensure data regarding assets delivered from suppliers is accurate, timely and sufficient for Financial Reporting.
The Project Accountant will also be responsible for the maintenance and monthly updates of the Construction Fixed Asset Registers as well as preparing and posting all related journals such as capitalisation, depreciation, reclassification and disposal along with overseeing other members of the team to ensure processes are seamless.
The Project Accountant will also create or redesign complex templates in Microsoft Excel as required by the Finance Manager or Group Financial Controller. Strong Excel skills are therefore vital in this role, as well as experience in working with large data sets.
Ideally you will be a fully qualified Accountant, with proven experience in fixed assets, ideally from a construction background, and former experience of reporting under IFRS would also be helpful. Public or private sector experience will be considered and in return the company offers excellent benefits, including a base salary up to 70k, hybrid working, and generous pension contributions.
