Location: Altrincham - 2-3 days per week on-site | Salary: Up to £55k plus bonus

I am supporting a growing organisation in Altrincham as they recruit a Senior Management Accountant. This role is ideal for someone who loves technical accounting, thrives in change, and wants a genuine route into Finance Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a broad, hands-on role with exposure across the entire finance function:

Management Accounting & Reporting

• Full ownership of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting quarterly and annual reporting cycles
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies

R&D Accounting

• Managing the end-to-end R&D cost process

Forecasting, Budgeting & Analysis

• Preparing forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis
• Challenging assumptions and partnering with SMT to explain performance
• Supporting the business through a period of structural and strategic change (great exposure for your CV)

Financial Control & Process Improvement

• Leading on complex accounting tasks and identifying process gaps and helping implement improved controls
• Supporting new systems, data models, reporting packs and automation initiatives

What They're Looking For

• Ideally practice trained (ACA/ACCA) with strong technical accounting skills
• Excellent IFRS knowledge
• Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and data analysis
• Strong Excel and systems confidence
• Someone who enjoys complex work, ambiguity, and continuous improvement
• Ambition to take on more responsibility
