A listed consumer business, with a strong retail presence, is recruiting for an Interim Technical Accountant to join the business on an initial 6-month contract, for an IFRS 16 related project. This is a senior leadership role, which will give you exposure to an array of stakeholders, external investors and shareholders as part of a larger transformation programme.
As the Interim Technical Accountant, you will be reporting to the Head of External Reporting and:
- Reviewing and owning group technical accounting activities in line with periodic close
- Acting as the subject matter expert for IFRS 16
- Leading on all technical accounting issues arising from IFRS 16 leases
- Implementing a robust process for reporting and consolidation within systems such as HFM
- Reporting to bond investors and acting as the main point of contact for auditors
- Supporting the control and governance teams, ensuring best practice is implemented
The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified from a big 4 practice firm. Experience with IFRS 16 is essential. Candidates from top 10 practice firms or ACCA qualified with an ability to demonstrate strong technical experience will be considered.
