Nirmal Mistry | Temp, Interim & Contract - Midlands

When did you join Marks Sattin and, how has your journey been so far?

I joined Marks Sattin in 2016 after considering a move for a year or so before taking the jump and joining and I’ve not looked back since. It's definitely been the best decision I have made! Birmingham is Marks Sattin's newest office and has represented a fantastic opportunity to build business in the Midlands, and I have established very good relationships with a number of candidates and clients throughout the region. This has generated repeat business for not only me but the wider business and resulted in enviable account wins with several SME, national and international businesses. Over two years into my personal journey with Marks Sattin, we are regularly seeing record months and quarters which I am confident will continue!

How has the interim/temp market grown in the Midlands over the years?

The interim market in the Midlands continues to grow from strength to strength. The rise in businesses investing in projects as well as change and transformation across several of our industry lines has really helped bolster our business. The Midlands economy and the rise in number of companies relocating their operations to the region is exciting and certainly drives job flow for high quality interims. The continued growth in infrastructure and transportation links to the region is inevitably a topic of great interest at the moment and is really helping attract top talent and high quality interims to the Birmingham area. This is evident in our healthy job flow and increase in new candidate registrations in the past 18 months.

Do Marks Sattin invest in your training and development?

Marks Sattin’s training and development programme is one of the best I have seen, it is geared towards the real life challenges in recruitment that we all face... it's not a one size fits all, which is great! Apart from regular coaching, guidance on the job and formal training workshops led by experienced colleagues, Marks Sattin also regularly invest in external consultancies and business advisors who come in to provide bespoke training and support on a regular basis. This is available to all consultants irrespective of your length of service or experience level. This in itself helps us achieve more, resulting in bigger and better rewards.

Random fact about you?

When I’m not at work, I enjoy cooking up a feast and I’m not a bad chef if I do say so myself!
