Accounts Payable

Our client in the education industry are looking for a new Accounts Payable to join their team in London. This is a new position made due to the growth of the team, and will see you take ownership of Accounts Payable funcitons and supporting the mentoring of juniors.

Key responsibilties:

• Oversee end‑to‑end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring all invoices, payments, recharges, and debtor balances are managed accurately and on time.
• Lead core month‑end activities including ledger reviews, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset postings, and commission reconciliations.
• Support and guide team members, holding regular check‑ins and assisting with workload management.
• Manage commission processes-gather data from partners, prepare statements, review for errors or overpayments, and ensure accurate commission accruals.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and contractor salary processing.
• Prepare for audits, respond to audit queries, and contribute to continuous process improvements across finance systems and workflows.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager and wider team to provide ad‑hoc support and deliver timely financial insights.

The ideal candidate will be an experience Accounts Payable Clerk with arounnd 2-3 experience in a similar role. To succeed in the role you must be a strong self starter, able to assist in the accounts payable function of the team and assist with the management of more junior team members as well. Strong systems experience, including excel will be necessary to ensure efficiency is met.
