Start your job searchMarks Sattin are delighted to be working exclusively with this market leading manufacturing business who are currently looking to add to their team.
Due to the relocation of the current post-holder, they are looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their Head Office finance function, working within a team of 4 and reporting to the Financial Controller. Typically you will be responsible for the following:-
- Producing weekly and monthly management accounts, including ledger close down
- Business partnering with non finance stakeholders to discuss variances
- Assisting with budgets and forecasting
- New product costings
- Stock control/accounting
This is a role where you will be encouraged long term to step outside of the finance department and develop relationships with other key areas of the business including supply chain, marketing and the factory itself, to enable better insight and decision making.
The role would ideally suit an individual currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) as the experience gained in this role will align with the practical requirements for these qualifications. As the only 'Part Qualified' in the team, you will be mentored by a CIMA Qualified Financial Controller to enable you to progress your skills and develop into a fully qualified Accountant in the next 18/24 months. An individual with previous experience in manufacturing is preferred, along wtih a strong academic background and intermediate Excel skills.
