Assistant Financial Controller (Interim)

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller at a real estate company in Amsterdam. You will be part of a larger finance team and will support the restructuring of the finance department.

As a Financial Controller you will help the team with clearing the backlog. You will support with process improvements and transaction processing. You will be working in a volatile, high-paced, and international environment. The company is divided into several entities all over the EMEA region and you will have to manage stakeholders within this region. Your key responsibilities are:

• Clear the backlog in transaction processing (cash application, bank recs, invoicing of revenues), compliance requirements and help improving processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness and reduce workload going forward.
• Review trial balances of legal entities to ensure financial books are closed on a quarterly basis at the highest standards (accuracy, completeness, etc) across multiple jurisdictions.
• Post journal entries related to the above activities in our corporate tool Oracle NetSuite
• Supervise, review and exercise effective financial control the work of outsourced service providers to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Ensure compliance with tax (VAT, CIT) and statutory (annual accounts filing)
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts of local entities

Your profile

• Experienced in financial accounting in large and complex multi-jurisdiction legal structures
• Hands-on and Internationally oriented
• Well organized, do-er
• Strong team orientation; willingness to help team meet goals and responsibilities
• Highly proficient in Excel and English

Duration: 6 months to 9 months with possible extension
All in hourly rate: €65,- ex VAT
