More specifically, your duties will include the following:

  • Line management of a small finance team on site (3)
  • Business partnering with the operations teams.
  • Consistent weekly reporting of sales, gross profit, labour, and overheads for each profit centre. Unlock and visualise the key drivers on the performance of the contract, providing insight to growth across different revenue streams.

  • Prepare monthly pack that tells the story in numbers and highlights the effectiveness of the operation and all supporting functions
  • Client presentations on the key messages of financial performance
  • Lead the planning/forecast process through partnering with MD/client to align business strategy to financial performance.
  • Work alongside the MD's to bring clarity to actions needed in the delivery of periodic and year end numbers; driving actions to deliver results.
  • Focus around purchasing compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability (switch & saves of products/suppliers etc)
  • Assess overall finance compliance and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Provide decision support to initiatives and projects supporting delivery of targets through insightful analysis and idea generation

This is an exceptional role, offering real autonomy and the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the growth of one of the most important locations in Edinburgh, and Scotland as a whole!

Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant, looking for a leadership role, who can demonstrate solid financial analysis expertise and proven stakeholder management experience as this role will really step away from traditional accounting day to day and have full responsibility to drive commercial success.
