Start your job searchA reputable, global pharmaceutical business based in London has a new opening within the team. They are seeking a Financial Accountant, who will play an essential role in supporting the Financial Controller with month-end, year-end, project work and mentoring juniors in the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Business partnering with various functions within the business on financial matters
- Support the Financial Controller with month-end and year-end reporting deadlines
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and revaluations.
- Post journal entries and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare prepayments and accruals
- Manage the fixed asset register
- IFRS 16 lease accounting
- Prepare UK and EU VAT returns
- Assist in the interim and year-end audit process
- Acting as a mentor to juniors within the team and supporting development.
- Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems
- Other ad hoc tasks and project work to support the wider team and business, including involvement with R&D projects
This role is best suited to a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or similar, with strong Excel skills and systems experience (Oracle or similar is desirable). Candidates must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels. Organizational skills are a must, with ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and towards deadlines.
