Financial Accountant | Preston | Up to £65,000 | 3 month contract

A growing finance function is seeking a confident and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support its monthly reporting, payroll analysis, and international finance operations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step into a broad role with exposure across UK and North American entities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts across subsidiaries
• Manage credit card reconciliations and expense allocations
• Support payroll analysis and journal postings (North America)
• Assist with VAT filings, audit prep, and general journals
• Provide variance analysis and commentary
• Identify and implement process improvements

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Experience in a similar financial accounting role
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities
• Collaborative, with strong communication and stakeholder skills
