Start your job searchA fast-growing start-up business within the healthcare space is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join the team.
Reporting directly to the Co-Founder, this role will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of the month management accounts and reporting packs
- Review accounts team processes and drive improvements in systems to provide greater efficiency and accuracy
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure these are clean and transactions are reflected appropriately
- Perform weekly cashflow reforecast
- Review and approve payment runs
- Perform monthly/quarterly VAT return preparation and submission
- Annual budgeting process
- Take ownership of the audit process, including preparation of audit files and fielding queries from the auditors
- Assist with weekly consolidated flash reporting of sales and broader business performance, and identify areas for improvement
- Recruitment, training and development of finance team members
- Assist with ad-hoc project work and support to the wider business when required
The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and ideally have experience working in a start-up/ SME environment. You will be highly numerate and accurate with ability to present information professionally and in an easy to understand manner. Candidates should have a 'hands-on' approach, be a quick learner with a 'can do' attitude with the ability to work well under pressure. Ideally you have the ability to identify and follow through process improvements and excellent communication skills particularly with external Auditors and Tax advisors.
