Financial Controller - Reading (Hybrid) - £70,000 to £75,000

A leading property services company is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Financial Controller to join its finance team in Reading. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping financial operations, improving systems, and leading a motivated finance function.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of daily financial activity, ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. You will also oversee compliance with relevant financial regulations, support ongoing system enhancements, and drive operational efficiency throughout the department, managing a tea of five.

A bit more about the role....

• Lead, mentor, and support both direct and indirect reports within the finance function
• Manage the full month-end cycle, including balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial controls
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss reporting
• Maintain robust VAT processes
• Review existing financial procedures and propose improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to improve financial visibility and support informed decision-making.
• Drive enhancements within the ERP system, ensuring processes evolve with business needs

A bit about you....

• Strong leadership qualities with a track record of developing and motivating finance team
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Advanced Excel capability, think pivot tables and complex formulas
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller role
