Temp to perm Hotel Finance Manager/ Financial Controller

I am working with a fast growing hotel group based in Central London on a temporary to permanenet opportunity for a Finance Manager/ Financial Controller. The role will be based in the office 4 days per week.

The Financial Controller will have sole responsibilty for the hotel and will be managing risks as well as producing a suite of reports to enable effective and profitable running of the finance function.

  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices as required and in accordance with company policy
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures to minimise risk; maintain records for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements
  • Timely monitoring of cost vs budget/ forecast within the hotel
  • Manage hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts)
  • Ensure that all daily/ weekly and monthly finance deadlines, tasks and processes have been complied with (i.e. daily revenue reports and uploads, cash and credit card reconciliations)
  • Update and keep track of the hotel P&L forecast
  • Prepare complete management accounts pack for hotel including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department head
  • Manage the production of weekly F&B flash reports
  • Monitoring all hotel ledgers to minimise risk of bad debt
  • Completion of payroll report and manage its cost base as well as posting the payroll journal

The ideal Hotel Finance Manager/ Financial Controller will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in hotel accounting
  • Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting and Finance preferred
  • Ability to challenge Heads of department when required
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Be flexible and results driven
