Financial Controller | 6 Month FTC | Cheshire | Up to £70,000

A fast-paced and growing business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of core accounting, reporting, and controls on an interim basis. You'll play a key role in strengthening financial governance, leading the month-end process, and supporting senior leadership with accurate, timely insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary.
• Own cashflow forecasting, treasury management, and full oversight of the cashbook and payment authorisations.
• Manage central overheads - accruals, prepayments, journals, budgeting, and cost control.
• Oversee and develop the AP & AR teams, ensuring strong performance, accuracy, and robust controls.
• Lead statutory reporting requirements (VAT, audit preparation, year-end accounts) and support the Finance Director on key financial projects.

About You

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical accounting expertise.
• Broad experience across financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the business.
• Highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with experience driving process improvement and supporting business change.
