A pan-UK consumer services firm with its headquarters in the Midlands is looking to hire a Junior Developer / Tester to join a growing team.
The main remit will be the testing of all software changes from IT projects and BAU helpdesk tickets.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for ether a recent IT grad / student to get onto the first rung of the job ladder, or a second jobber looking to move on and find a more rewarding and exciting environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating test plans based on the development you or another team member has completed to ensure all scenarios are covered
- Produce Testing Documentation of work completed
- To assist in providing realistic estimate timescales of delivery against the business requirements
- Develop and maintain all applicable documentation as required, including user manuals, testing schedules, source code, application objects and data flows related to assigned projects.
- Complete Admin duties for the team
- Understanding and making changes in MS Access 2010, 2016, Front End Systems and SQL Databases.
Skills & Qualifications
- Recent degree / higher education qualification in a technology discipline
- Experience working in a corporate environment is welcomed but not essential
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A positive and proactive attitude to any work given
- Excellent planning and time management skills, including a willingness to "own" a problem through to resolution
- Once you have been in the role 6 months you will :-
- Have a good understanding of VBA & SQL databases and data architecture.
- Be able to complete software changes and test them
- Be a proactive member of the team by maintaining the helpdesk tickets
