My client, a fast growing tech company are looking to hie a project accountant on a 3 month basis with scope to extend depending on the project. The primary focus of this role is to provide insight oversight and foresight in relation to the project. This will include project accounting and reporting, as well as effective stakeholder management across the business.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Project Accounting & Finance Services, some of the key accountabilities for this role include:

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and review of finance structures, systems, processes, including cost controls

  • Oversee accounting management of commercial contracts to ensure adherence to contract terms and application of appropriate accounting treatments

  • Ensure high quality of governance in forecasting, reporting and analysis of key project variables

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies and procedures

  • Responsible for coordinating, facilitating, interrogating, analysing, challenging and uploading budgets and forecasts

  • Manage all accounting activities including asset accounting associated with the project

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance project performance and risk management

  • Respond to all requests (data, analysis, workshops, etc.) from stakeholders within the agreed standards and timeframe

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

  • Experience with start ups/tech company projects and key aspects of contract administration

  • Strong reporting & analytical skills combined with strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent business engagement skills, ability to effectively communicate financial matters to non-financial personnel, both verbally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate & manage well at all levels and with personnel in remote locations

  • Ability to influence others and effectively assume functional management of others when required

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to engage in and address hands on operational details as necessary

  • ACA qualified (Big 4) in the last 2-3 years
