Marks Sattin are excited to announce an opportunity for a meticulous and analytical Part Time Stock Accountant to manage and reconcile inventory-related financial data within our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of stock valuations, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with experience in manufacturing or inventory-heavy environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, adjustments, and transfers.
- Reconcile inventory balances between the general ledger and inventory management systems.
- Monitor and report on stock variances, investigating discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
- Calculate and post monthly stock provisions, including slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes with accurate inventory valuations and journal entries.
About you
- Part or Fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in an accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing, FMCG or inventory-intensive environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and cost accounting.
