Reputation of Ireland’s economy “not terminal”


“If a deal with the ECB is struck, it will reassure the global blue chip employers that Dublin’s jobs market relies on so heavily. But these large multi-nationals care about the cost of doing business here, as well as economic stability. As the cost of living has decreased, so the relative attractiveness for inward direct investment has increased.

“That is already generating new jobs - over the last year we have seen a 104% increase in the number of finance positions we have been asked to fill. If the economic situation looks sufficiently stable, multinationals will feel able to expand their local operations further."
