Accounts Payable - London

Seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance Team on a twelve months fixed term basis. This role will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to our suppliers, ensuring payments are made by processing invoices in a timely manner. Due to the nature of the work and structure of our finance department, we would like candidates to be comfortable to work in the office based in Watford on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up new supplier accounts
• Processing a high volume of invoices for suppliers
• Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain a good working relationship
• Day to day query resolving by phone and e-mail internally and externally, also assisting with duties of the communal Accounts Payable mailbox, dealing with queries in a timely manner
• Cross-checking invoices received with relevant PO's and communicating differences for approval
• Ensuring all suppliers are paid within their agreed payment terms
• Statement reconciliations
• Resolving supplier account discrepancies
• Assisting with payment proposals ensuring payments per supplier are correct for the PTP Manager to review
• Communicate internally with branches/departments on invoice approvals
• Processing consolidated spreadsheets of a large value for our regular supplier

Requirements:

• Recent, demonstrable experience of working within a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Assistant
• GCSE's in Maths & English and ideally studying towards AAT or equivalent
• Available immediately and able to commit to a temporary role for up to 12 months
• Strong data entry skills and able to work at a fast pace with high accuracy
• Self-starter, organised and able to work independently
• Has excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
