Marks Sattin are working in partnership with an innovative leader in their field to recruit a Commercial Accountant on a permanent basis, based in Bristol. This is a newly created role and joins the FP&A team at an exciting time of transition, an opportunity to blend an existing skill set within financial analysis, modelling and business partnering.

You will play an integral role in the business to bridge the gap between the core FP&A/finance teams and some of the key decision makers inside and outside of finance. You will drive detailed analysis around the relevant market, challenge pricing decisions and interrogate data relevant to the profitability of the business.

The Commercial Accountant position will be paying between £60k and £70k per annum with market leading benefits including 28 days annual leave (plus BH), 15% pension, 20% bonus and much more!

The Commercial Accountant Role

This role would suit somebody with a high degree of capability within Financial Analysis, data manipulation and financial modelling to start. Alongside this you will have the confidence and experience to influence decision makers where applicable and fundamentally challenge in a productive and collaborative way.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyse the financial performance versus budget and explore any variances
  • Contribute to quarterly planning and forecasting process
  • Deep dive into market and trend analysis, relevant to determine correct pricing and return on investment
  • Business partner with key senior decision makers up to and including board members
  • Interpret complex and large data to draw conclusions that will add value
  • Highlight risk and opportunities with relevant commentary and data driven backing
  • Be the commercial outlet for non-finance stakeholders

Key Skills and Experience

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables/lookups, complex data manipulation)
  • Ability to build and amend financial models
  • Strong business partnering experience, influence key decision makers
  • Confidence to work autonomously
