If you have experience of management accounting and are looking for your first step up into management- this role is a fantastic opportunity for you.

You will need some prior experience of working with junior members of a finance team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of day to day financial processing as well as responsibility for month end preparation of key balance sheet areas including provisions.
  • Support in the provision of advice and information to the operations team, in form of reports, analysis and data to facilitate their roles and contribute to the delivery of the strategic goals within the business area
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including review and analysis of the results. Preparation of supporting commentary and KPI's.
  • Prepare Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and audit file preparation
  • Support and develop the accounts team
  • People management; manage team members effectively promoting team member engagement

You will be accountable for:

  • Monitor the Accounts team's management of day to day responsibilities
  • Accruals and Prepayments ensuring revenues and costs recorded within appropriate time periods
  • Delivery of accurate monthly financial accounts/reporting including losses/defaults within the required deadlines Support in financial reporting requirements
  • Management of Balance Sheet Integrity ensuring appropriate controls implemented to manage risk and timely preparation of monthly audit reviews highlighting risk items as appropriate with associated remedial recommendations
  • Ensure billing is accurate
  • Support on any key projects that drive strategic change within the business where financial analysis/reporting is require
  • Facilitate training/development plans for the Accounts team

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Part Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Strong I.T skills (particularly MS Excel)
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management capability
  • Drive and determination to succeed with focus on continual personal development
  • People management and development skills
