Finance & Performance - Insurance Industry Focus (Manager / Senior Manager)

Teh successful candidate will apply their skills in projects reaching beyond traditional finance boundaries - helping adapt the finance functions to new technologies, new regulations and fiscal challenges (including cost pressures). They will lead finance elements of finance and actuarial transformation programmes, including implementation of IFRS 17. This role will give exposure to cutting edge finance work in a strategic, consulting and transactional context.

Duties will include:

  • Regulatory change initiatives, including the implementation of IFRS 17;
  • Finance Target Operating Model definition and implementation;
  • Finance process and controls design, including Close optimisation initiatives;
  • Finance IT architecture design, including functional support in defining requirements, designing, building and testing components of the finance architecture;
  • Vendor spec & select support, including finance system vendors offering sub-ledger, general ledger, accounting rules engine and business intelligence solutions;
  • Plan and manage a team on projects to successfully deliver outcomes for clients ensuring that the deliverables are produced in a timely way and are of the required quality;

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry, emerging trends
  • Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other accounting qualification, and a strong academic record;
  • Experience of successfully managing projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget;
  • Prior consulting experience in finance transformation or active roles in finance transformation projects in the insurance industry;
  • Advanced financial reporting experience including technical knowledge of the key insurance financial metrics (e.g. Solvency II, Embedded Value and IFRS reporting) and the application of these in various areas of finance work;
