Role Purpose:
To be responsible for the accounting and associated controls for allocated entities to enable the UK to meet its financial reporting requirements and controls and to support commercial decision making. 12 Months Fixed Term Contract.

Accounting and Controls
Responsibility for the accurate and timely accounting of allocated entities, with particular focus on the group's quarterly reporting timetable requirements. Complete all necessary reconciliations/reviews on a timely basis and ensure work is undertaken to enable management review.

Compliance
Ensure all elements of statutory compliance for allocated entities is delivered to the required deadlines including VAT, national statistics, statutory accounts etc

Reporting

  • Undertake appropriate analysis to explain variance against budget, forecast or prior year and on a quarterly basis prepare formal variance analysis to support group and joint venture reporting.
  • Support the financial controller and commercial teams in the preparation and review of financial information for allocated joint ventures.

Internal and External Relationships
Develop effective relationships with internal colleagues across the wider business and external parties to gain a thorough understanding of the allocated entities as well as the wider business.

Business and Process Development
Review existing internal processes and procedures and proactively make recommendations, through discussion with colleagues for changes to deliver improved output and productivity.

Qualifications:
Recognised accounting qualification preferably ACA/ACCA/CIMA

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Strong experience of financial accounting
  • Good knowledge of preparation of statutory information e.g. financial statements, VAT returns etc.
  • Preparation of subsidiary / management accounts
  • Extensive use of accounting systems
  • Track record of achieving reporting and other deadlines
  • Has worked collaboratively as part of a team
  • Well organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to produce timely and accurate information
  • Ability to build good relationships at all levels of the business


    You would be working from home to start with but expected to be in the office 2 days a week with flexible hours.
